Our Story

Motive ESG was founded in 2019 to solve a market gap we identified clearly: ESG infrastructure was built for public companies. Regulatory frameworks, consulting expertise, technology platforms—all of it flowed toward companies with investor relations teams, compliance officers, and multi-year planning cycles.

But private markets worked differently. PE-backed companies were facing real ESG demands from LPs, customers, and regulators. Yet the technical support and expertise to meet those demands barely existed.

We built Motive to change that. Combining deep ESG expertise with technical problem-solving, we help private market investors and portfolio companies turn ESG from a compliance burden into a strategic asset.
